Full course description
This webinar will build off of History of VR Part 1 exploring deeper into the history and evolution of disability rights and the vocational rehabilitation profession. Expanding on the basic understanding of key legislation, disability rights movements, and changes to both the vocational rehabilitation system as well as rehabilitation counseling will be discussed.
Presented by: Beth Gaertner
Beth is an Outreach Specialist at the University of Wisconsin-Stout Vocational Rehabilitation Institute (SVRI). In that role, she works on training and sustainability efforts for various federal grant projects and serves as a training coordinator and member of the knowledge mobilization team. Previously, Beth worked in the unit that determines eligibility for the State of Wisconsin Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) program. Prior to SVRI, Beth spent three years with the Community Support Network in Madison, Wisconsin, where she served as a Supportive Employment Specialist, Volunteer Coordinator, and Case Manager. Beth is currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Wisconsin-Stout and already holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and exploring new places.
